#1053 Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor and Ileal Carcinoid in Acromegaly. Pluriglandular Association in Non-MEN 1 Patient: A Case Report.

Introduction: Pluriglandolar endocrine disease in patients without familial inherited disease (non-MEN 1) are very rare. Primary Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors (pNET) and ileal carcinoid tumors have different embryologic origin (foregut and midgut respectively).

#717 A Pancreatic Metastasis from Carcinoid Midgut Tumor

Introduction: Metastatic lesions to the pancreas are rare.

#500 Duodenal Carcinoid Tumors are Associated with Increased Survival and Earlier Detection When Compared with Jejunal or Ileal Carcinoids: A Population Based Study

Introduction: Seventy to eighty percent of small intestinal carcinoids (SIC) are found incidentally. Jejunal and ileal lesions can often be resected locally, but advanced duodenal carcinoids require high-risk pancreaticoduodenectomy.

#262 Changes on Chromosome 18 are Involved in Sporadic and Familial Ileal Carcinoid Tumor Development

Introduction: Small intestine neuroendocrine tumors (ileal carcinoid) is generally considered a sporadic disease. We have identified nine families with an ileal carcinoid tumor diagnosed in two or more individuals.

#119 Valproic acid induces apoptosis-mediated cell death of the ileal carcinoid cell line GOT1

Introduction: Downregulation of tumor suppressor genes, evasion from apoptosis, and reduced differentiation are hallmarks of cancer that can be due to abnormal epigenetic control. Histone deacetylase (HDAC) is an enzyme involved in the deacetylation of histone proteins, resulting in chromatin remodelling and altered gene transcription. HDAC inhibitors are emerging as useful anticancer drugs.
